Tryon Arts Center sings the blues

TRYON, NC — Tryon Fine Arts Center will be filled with the Blues for the third annual Chase Away the Blues scheduled for Saturday, February 1st at 34 Melrose Avenue in Tryon. Using three venues within the building, every style of blues from New Orleans to Piedmont, SC to Chicago, acoustic and electric with a full flavor palette of Swing, Jazz, Funk, and Rock and Roll will rock from the time the doors open at 5:30 to the last note of the jam session at around 11:00pm. Music will be ebbing and flowing in three locations.

Scheduled performers are headliner “Southern Fireball,” Nikki Hill from Greensboro, Zataban, Mill Billy Blues, and Tommy Lytle from Upstate SC, Peggy Ratusz & Daddy LongLegs from Asheville, Tryon’s Jim Peterman who will be joined by friends including Wanda Johnson and “Dr. Blues” Chuck Beattie.

Entry is general admission, with two tiers of ticket prices available.
· The basic ticket provides access to the music all night long. Food and beverages will be for sale.
· The VIP ticket provides food donated from local restaurants and beverage for no charge in the private “VIP Lounge” located in Gallery I

Patrons will trade their ticket for a wristband allowing them to re-enter the Arts Center if they choose to come and go throughout the evening.

All proceeds from tickets and concessions will benefit programming at TFAC. Pacolet Milliken is the event sponsor. WNCW is media sponsor. Tickets are on sale online at www.tryonarts.org and at the Tryon Fine Arts Center Box office Tuesday – Friday 10-4 and Saturday 10–1. VIP tickets will only be sold through Friday, January 31st.
