UNC Asheville’s annual Head Start Holiday Party set for Dec. 3

Here’s the press release from UNC Asheville:

UNC Asheville will host its annual Head Start Holiday Party from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the Justice Center.

Donated gifts are already wrapped and individually labeled for the 56 children from the Pisgah View Head Start center who will attend.

This year’s party will feature crafts, games, food, storytelling, dancing, a visit from Rocky the mascot, and from Charles James, associate professor of chemistry, who will make his annual appearance as Santa Claus.

UNC Asheville student leaders Melissa Castillo and Daisy Torres, co-presidents of HOLA (the student organization Herman@s Orgull@s en Las Americas) have recruited entertainers, volunteers, and donations of gifts from all over campus. Students from organizations such as the Amnesty International, Bulldog Nation, Sigma Nu, and others will participate as volunteers.

The UNC Asheville Head Start Holiday Party has been an annual tradition since 1997.
