Western Carolina University
Western Carolina University will host events including panel discussions this spring on social and cultural issues of the 1960s and is searching for community members to take part.
The campuswide interdisciplinary learning theme for the 2013-14 academic year is “1960s: Take It All In,” and events being held throughout the year are designed to encourage faculty, staff and students to reflect on the legacy and lessons of the decade.
Community members willing to share experiences from the 1960s relevant to spring panel discussions on voting rights, abortion and the environment and energy are asked to contact Amy Cherry, assistant professor of music and chair of the 1960s theme steering committee, at 828-227-3725 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Attendance at all panel discussions is free and open to the public.
