Website showcases planned Beaucatcher Greenway in detail

The City of Asheville’s Beaucatcher Greenway project now has an informative website with maps, drawings and images providing a general overview of the project as well as going into more detail on the  greenway’s various sections, trailheads and design. It also offers a projected timeline for the project as well as the history of Beaucatcher Mountain.

The projected timeline for the project is as follows: completed construction documents to be submitted for permit approval by the end of this month; a drop-in public information meeting where the public can review the greenway plans with a consultant and city staff held sometime this June; a bid process (also in June) where a contractor will be selected to construct as much of the project as the budget affords; a construction period to begin in August of this year and end by July 1, 2016; and the opening of the greenway on July 1, 2016.
