West End Bakery to host ‘Poetry and Prose Reading Series’

Press Release

Wes End Bakery & Cafe

The West End Bakery & Café is hosting A Poetry and Prose Reading Series this Fall. This month’s event will feature an excellent cast of local writers including Allan Wolf, Alli Marshall, Matthew Olzmann, Melissa Crowe, Katey Schulz and a few surprises! The series launched in September. Since that date, we have had two packed house events full of patrons thrilled to have an evening literary event the whole family can enjoy.

The West End Bakery & Café, a long time West Asheville eatery, recently expanded their hours to include Friday and Saturday evenings from 5-11p.m. offering Biscuit Sandwiches, snacks, and treats such as Dessert Flights (small portions of several varieties of sweets similar to a wine tasting). The menu also features microbrewed beer, mimosas, and select wines, in addition to organic locally-roasted coffee and espresso. The owners of the West End are excited to host events like this Reading Series and Youth Open Mic Nights to bring new evening opportunities for fun family nights on the West side.

The Series will continue on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. followed by the last event of the Fall, December 13. For more details and to see the lineup of writers visit https://www.facebook.com/WestEndPoetryandProseReadingSeries
