Press release from Eblen Charities:

Christmas and the holiday season is a special time of giving and sharing especially in the mountains of western North Carolina. Those of us who live here are most fortunate to be surrounded by some of the kindest and most generous people on the face of the earth. This Christmas is no exception as the wonderful folks at we could win brewery have created a special beer that only to add to the holiday season but to help families in need this Christmas.

As thousands of toys leave the Ingle’s toy store at Westgate Shopping Center with the St. Nicholas project.this holiday season has truly has been truly memorable thanks to many generous people, companies, and organizations that have joined us in making Christmas bright to hundreds of families this year and bringing smiles to thousands of children and their families on Christmas morning.

And as toys take center stage at the St. Nicholas Project,  it is fitting that our longtime friends and partners at Wicked Weed and the Funkatorium have named their special holiday beer ‘Lost Toys’ with proceeds from the sale of the select barrel aged sour beer going to the St. Nicholas project.

“We remember our lost toys. Once beloved, then outgrown, but never forgotten, these playthings lay collecting dust in the corners of our minds. We are reclaiming the relics of our pasts, and putting them to new use. Our barrel collection contains treasures from across the world. We are combining these rare beauties to create an entirely new alchemy,” states Rick Guthy of Wicked Weed Brewing. “Wicked Weed Brewing is always eager and happy to be of help to Eblen Charities and the awesome work that they do in WNC.  What this Charity does 365 days a year to help folks in need is beyond words…and WWB feels very blessed and honored to help play a small role in that outreach.”

“Rick and all the wonderful folks at Wicked Weed have been such an important part of Eblen Charities since they first opened their doors,” tells Bill Murdock, executive director of Eblen Charities. “Their outreach to those in need in our community is a shining example to everyone in the public and private sectors alike. Every one should be so fortunate to have a company such as Wicked Weed in their community.”Founded December 2012, Wicked Weed Brewing is a brewpub which specializes in west coast style hoppy ales, open fermented Belgian beers and barrel ages sours which has received world-wide acclaim in its five short years of operation.
