Winter food and wellness classes at the French Broad Food Co-op

The French Broad Food Co-op is offering two classes aimed at empowering locals to ward off seasonal illness this winter. Herbs for Winter Wellness is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 20, and Food as Medicine will be offered on Wednesday, Jan. 21. Herbs for Winter Wellness will offer easy recipes and ideas for herbal support, plus participants will make their own elderberry syrup to take home. Food as Medicine will focus on common foods and spices that most people have in their cupboards that are also healing medicines, and a variety of foods will be discussed that can be included in the daily diet to promote wellness. Participants will make a medicinal gomasio seasoning to taste and take home.
