WLOS reports: At least three dead In Brevard Road wreck UPDATE

Three young men have been killed in a horrific News Year’s Day accident. It happened shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday in Avery’s Creek at the intersection of Brevard Road and Ledbetter Road.

Officials on the scene say a black Volvo hydroplaned, sliding into the opposite lane, and slamming into a container truck. A witness told officials the semi truck then dragged the car about 100 feet into an embankment.

All three passengers in the car were men under the age of 30. They were killed on impact. The driver of the truck was taken to Mission Hospital with minor injuries.

Emergency crews are responding to an accident with injuries at the intersection of Brevard Road and Ledbetter Road. Officials say at least three people are dead and one injured.

Details are limited at this time, but we do know the wreck involved a fuel truck.

Ledbetter Road is in the Avery Creek area, south of Long Shoals road. Officials have closed Brevard Road near the accident scene and are asking that those who do not need to be in the area not go there.
