WNC Green Building Council seeks new executive director

Announcement from WNC Green Building Council:

The WNC Green Building Council (WNCGBC), a non-profit organization committed to advancing sustainability in the built environment through community education, measureable standards, and regional action, has kicked off its regional search for a new Executive Director to lead the organization through its next phase of innovation and growth. The new Executive Director will lead a thriving regional organization with an exceptional 15 year history of serving its members and the community at large.

The WNCGBC has directly educated over 6,000 building industry professionals and homeowners by providing building science and weatherization trainings, free classes, public forums and technical trainings.  WNCGBC has successfully worked with local governments and utilities to provide training and incentives for green building/energy efficiency, with such programs as  Green Built NC and LEED for Homes, which transform the way homes are built.  Each year, the WNCGBC produces a comprehensive Green Building Directory of businesses who support and perform sustainable design and construction.  Most recently, the WNCGBC began hosting a Living Building Challenge Collaborative, and will be expanding the Green Gauge with Home Energy Score statewide in 2016.

The ED, in partnership with board and staff, will be focused on leading the implementation of the WNCGBC’s strategic goals of strengthening its programs/services, expanding the community’s understanding about green building’s impact on individuals and the community, and actively partnering with members, sponsors, and community organizations.

To apply, please send a letter of interest, resume and job/salary history via email only to applications@wncgbc.org.  For questions about the process, contact Kendra Penland at 828-301-3162 or via email at applications@wncgbc.org .
