Participants in Asheville Lyric Opera’s Summer Artist Training Program will perform a variety of songs at 3 p.m. Friday, June 27, in UNC Asheville’s Reuter Center. This program is free and open to the public.

The Summer Artist Training Program is an opportunity for young artists from around the country to participate in a six-week program as part of Asheville Lyric Opera’s summer season. Each artist works with the production staff to develop skills in auditioning, singing, stagecraft and other areas. They will also perform in Asheville Lyric Opera’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific, July 18-20 at the Diana Wortham Theatre.

The Asheville Lyric Opera’s regular opera lecture series at UNC Asheville’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) will resume with upcoming talks scheduled for July 11 and August 22.
