Yours Truly, 1970s Film Stock and Judas Horse perform at The Mothlight, Dec. 5

Press release:

Asheville bands Yours Truly, Judas Horse and venue The Mothlight are proud to bring triad-area guitar virtuoso Eddie Garcia, AKA 1970s Film Stock to the Mothlight on Saturday, December 5 in support of his new release Hand Painted. “He powers his individual abstraction with fondness for Alan Licht and Derek Bailey, his guitar crying, sighing and screaming broken riffs and dissonant themes.” – Grayson Currin, Indy Week

Guitarist/vocalist Eddie Garcia lays down hard on the altar of pedal worship, drowning audiences in a fuzzy wash of guitars that stagger between beauty and chaos. Psychedelic and shoegaze sound collages rub up against intensely personal vocals that highlight Garcia’s remembered/imagined past. Performing as a solo act incorporating drum machines and live looping, 1970s Film Stock have a commitment to exploring the outer-reaches of the guitar as a sonic controller.

In support will be new project Yours Truly, fronted by Asheville music favorite Albatross Party singer, songwriter and keyboardist Tiziana Severse. Yours Truly has strong roots in synth-pop, utilizing the synthesizer expertise of T.J. Mills (Voyager Team Leader at Moog Music), and powerful, lyrical drumming from Greg Latham, also formerly of Albatross Party. Psychedelic folk trio Judas Horse comprised of guitar (Linn Rogers of Birds on the Ground), violin (Meg Mulhearn of U.S. Christmas, Divine Circles, Lunar Creature) and bass (David Lynch of Serpents, Enoch, Descolada). Of their last release, reviewer Jon Rosenthal says “Holy War shows the trio…exploring their various ranges of influence in a hypnotic, fluid sort of way that is highly indicative of the innovative Appalachian scene.”
