Wayne, You may be aware of this item from last night’s council meeting.
Typically temp use permits and op fire permits would be needed for
pop-up tents and personal grills, campfires or the like on city property
which I would expect to be part of an encampment wherever staff
determines best suitable. Will Fire be willing to allow this to occur
randomly throughout the event site without permit?
Thank you,
Jon Fillman

Everyone,
We met briefly with the city manager tonight after the city council
meeting, and based on the city council direction given to staff to work
with Occupy Asheville to identify suitable public space for them to
camp/occupy/practice first amendment rights, we need to meet tomorrow at
2pm in room 209. I am sorry for the short notice. Thanks and we’ll talk
tomorrow.
