FYI…Robert Griffin gave a copy of the permit to Jennifer Foster last
Friday afternoon in our meeting. She signed the application…however,
this apparently isn’t the same one, because her signature isn’t on it.
It may be that one of the fractured segments of this movement applied
for a different permit for their own “event”. This may be a concern
moving forward in that if they can’t get along an keep splintering off,
how can we say “no” to one segment for another permit if we’ve said
“yes” and issued a permit to some other group?

The big concern is we were advised on Friday of last week that it was
Council's wishes that Staff work with the Occupy Asheville to find a
City owned or operated property that could accommodate this group to
occupy. Because of this, I and other City Staff at the meeting were
lead to believe we had no choice but to support a permit.

I was informed late today that a permit has not been issued to date. So
if you have further concerns please advise.
