WNC magazine Seeking Assistant Editor

Based in Asheville, North Carolina, WNC magazine is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Assistant Editor who can offer original ideas, a strong work ethic, and solid time-management skills. Good writing and proofreading skills a must. The ideal candidate has ample published bylines, experience with social media platforms, and knowledge of the Western North Carolina region. English, Journalism, or Communications degrees preferred, but not a must.

Day-to-day tasks will include sourcing, writing, and helping supervise the creation of editorial content as well as managing social media accounts. Familiarity with Chicago style and Adobe InDesign a plus, as is video editing experience. Candidate should feel confident working with a small team. Some occasional travel is required. Position is full-time and salary is up to $34K based on experience.

Requirements:
• Degree from a 4-year college
• 2-4 years of experience in publishing
• Impeccable writing and editing skills
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Mastery of social media platforms
• Attention to detail and ability to hit deadlines
