Hasta luego, La Carreta

La Carreta will make way for Trader Joe’s by moving from its 100 Merrimon Ave. spot. The Mexican restaurant will observe business as usual on its last day, Saturday, Nov. 3. It opens for lunch and dinner from noon to 11 p.m.

The owners plan to open a new La Carreta at 61 Weaver Boulevard in Weaverville by the middle of November. The restaurant already has another location in south Asheville at 1916 Hendersonville Road.

Trader Joe’s, purveyor of groceries, beer and wine (especially the discount, house-brand variety known as “Two Buck Chuck”) plans to open a 13,000 square foot store in 2013, according to a July press release.

For more information, call the Merrimon Avenue La Carreta at 225-4600 or the Hendersonville Road location at 651-4462.

    Gentrification, anyone?

You asked for it, and now convenience is ours.

    Namaste.
