Looking to go out today?

Maybe you need a reprieve from holiday cooking. Maybe you want to grab a drink after a Christmas movie. Maybe you’ve got cabin fever.

Whatever the reason, if you want to dine out for Christmas, some restaurants will remain open. Here’s a short list of places to try. Just remember to call ahead: some eateries operate under reduced hours to give their staffs a chance for merry-making.

For more detailed information, check out the Carolina Epicurean blog‘s Holiday Dining Out Guide. Blogger Laura Huff has compiled a list of holiday hour changes at many area restaurants. (For more information about Huff, check out this profile from Xpress.)

-The Bier Garden, 46 Haywood St., 285-0002
-Bistro 1896, 7 Pack Square, 251-1300
-Edna’s of Asheville, 870 Merrimon Ave., 255-3881
-Scully’s Bar and Grill, 13 Walnut St., 251-8880

Several restaurants at The Grove Park Inn, (800) 438-5800, and The Biltmore Estate, 225-1333, also remain open.

Know of any other restaurants that will remain open on Christmas day? Leave a comment below.
