In a statement sent to local media, Asheville City Council member Cecil Bothwell highlights information from a report sent to Council by the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission and calls for the firing of Asheville ABC General Manager Curtis Canty and the city's ABC board, asserting that "the current Board is either incompetent or complicit in ongoing corruption." Bothwell also takes aim at fellow Council member Jan Davis, noting that maintenance on ABC vehicles was done by Davis' tire business while he was ABC liaison.
