Blog Log: The week in local blogging

Despite some blogs going missing, going private or just being ignored in favor of summer activities, there was some action in our little corner of the blognation this week.

Bruisin’ Ales Beer Blog is unleashing information on the beer tax, which is likely to be loathed in Beer City U.S.A.

Speaking of beer and loathing, Ptak Science Books found this connection between a beloved beer and Nazi graphic designers!

Also in the world of rants, AshVillian is calling foul on yet another desperate attempt by newspapers to survive the webplosion.

Art Seen Asheville caught up with some modern-day nomads hanging out behind the Phil Mechanic Building.

Although this apparently has been going on awhile (and looks like an idea that could gain traction in West Mustacheville), Blue Barnhouse is furthering the cause of the neck beard.

Weirdly, The Adventures of Supermom and Skippy Haha are of opposing views on a watched pot.

And, just because, here are some pictures of birds over at Blue Ridge Blue Collar Girl.

Happy Fourth of July.

It only takes a moment.

The comments section is here to provide a platform for civil dialogue on the issues we face together as a local community. Xpress is committed to offering this platform for all voices, but when the tone of the discussion gets nasty or strays off topic, we believe many people choose not to participate. Xpress editors are determined to moderate comments to ensure a constructive interchange is maintained. All comments judged not to be in keeping with the spirit of civil discourse will be removed and repeat violators will be banned. See here for our terms of service. Thank you for being part of this effort to promote respectful discussion.

  1. man, i’m not backing down – i’ll have to argue with Supermom that a lifetime of experience says that watched pots do boil.
