The Buncombe County Republican Party will submit complaints alleging that election law was violated when James Taylor concert tickets were given away “at several polling locations,” according to a statement issued this afternoon.
The concernt was held in Asheville is support of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama. According to the statement, representatives of the party will submit the complaints to the Buncombe County Board of Elections tomorrow.
Party Chair Tim Johnson has asserted that “voter fraud has taken over this election” and sworn that the GOP will make preventing it a focus. Board of Elections officials have said they have extensive safeguards in place that make fraud nigh impossible.

Buncombe GOP Complains of Election Law Violations
The Buncombe County Republican Party will submit complaints to the Buncombe County Board of Elections at their meeting on Friday over the appearance of impropriety at early voting locations. The organization objects to the distribution of James Taylor concert tickets at several polling locations in Buncombe County during the same hours as early voting, as advertised in the Citizen-Times. The concert was advertised as supporting Senator Barack Obama, candidate for President. On Wednesday, party officials and local citizens urged the Buncombe County Board of Elections to request that the North Carolina Board of Elections and the District Attorney investigate whether or not actual vote-buying took place.
“With the recent concerns over possible voter fraud surrounding ACORN, as well as complaints from within the Democratic Party itself over election issues, we should all be hyper-vigilant about following election laws. Bribing voters with concert tickets is an appalling abuse of our election process,” says Dr. Timothy Johnson, Chairman of the Buncombe County Republican Party. “Fair elections are the foundation of our freedom and our representative government. We will protect the integrity of our elections at all costs.”

how come anyone who brings up ACORN doesn’t seem to know what exactly their fraud was, and how it really is NOT a threat to our democracy?
so some vote-getters need to make quota, so they cheat and add in false registration forms. guess what? ACORN is LEGALLY OBLIGATED to hand in those forms that their workers submit – and those forms might slow down our registration system, but they aren’t clogging it, and they aren’t getting validated.

It’s fairly harmless, yet since the Republicans have cheated the last 2 elections, and are about to lose this one – hrm – I can see why they’d want to make a fuss that smears Democrats as cheaters pre-election. So when they steal the next election, they’ll have plenty of talking points to make it look like both sides were cheating, so that it’s all fair. Except that the “cheating” the Dems are doing doesn’t turn into more votes – whereas the Repub’s are the types to straight out steal them.

Actually, “Mr marks”, it isnt. Voter registration fraud is not voter fraud. The fact that you contend differently seems to show your lack of understanding of the issue.
I listen to Rush, and I know he says this is voter fraud, but he isnt telling the truth. Really. You should try cross-referencing what you hear on talk radio with other sources. Its amazing how Rush is allowed to lie to the rubes, and how they eat it up, even when he is looking down on them from his multi-million-dollar mansion and designer suits.
Any chance you could supply us with some reason we should vote for McCain instead of Ron Paul, the only truly conservative candidate? Or are you only interested in attacking McCain’s opponent? Seems a bit negative, from my perspective, mr anderson.
