Bus routes to be affected by parade

The City of Asheville has released a list of bus routes altered due to road closings during Saturday’s Holiday Parade. According to the announcement, road closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 21.

Here is the route information:

Route 1 — Haywood Rd — will use Hilliard inbound and outbound instead of Patton Ave. to connect to Clingman Ave.
Route 2 — Merrimon Ave. — will use Hilliard Ave. to Clingman Ave. to Haywood St. to I-240 both inbound and outbound in order to connect to the Broadway/Merrimon Ave. exit and maintain its normal route north starting at the bus stop at Staple & Greenlife.
Route 4 — Kenilworth Rd. — will use Asheland Ave. to Southside Ave. to Short Coxe both inbound and outbound, then maintain its normal route south on Biltmore Ave to Mission Hospital.
Route 5 — Charlotte Street — will use Hilliard Ave. to Clingman Ave. to Haywood St. to I-240 both inbound and outbound in order to connect to the Charlotte Street exit and maintain its normal route north of I-240.
Route 6 — Hendersonville Rd./Airport — normal route, no detour necessary.
Route 8 — Biltmore Ave./Shiloh — will use Asheland Ave. to Southside Ave. to Short Coxe both inbound and outbound, then maintain its normal route south on Biltmore Ave.
Route 9- Brevard Rd. /Biltmore Square Mall — normal route, no detour necessary.
Route 11 — will use Hilliard Ave. to Clingman Ave, to Haywood St. both inbound and outbound, then connect to Montford Ave. and maintain its normal route north on Montford Ave.
Route 12 — Oakley — normal route, no detour necessary.
Route 13 — Tunnel Road/Oteen/Haw Creek — will use Asheland Ave. to Southside Ave. to Short Coxe Ave. to McCormick Place to MLK Drive both inbound and outbound, then connect to the normal route east on Tunnel Road.
Route 15 — Patton Ave./Deaverview — will use Hilliard Ave. to Clingman Ave. to Patton Ave. to I-240 inbound and outbound.
Route 16 — Bingham Heights — will use Hilliard Ave. to Clingman Ave. to Patton Ave. to I-240 inbound and outbound.
Route 18 — AB-Tech/ UNC Asheville — will maintain its normal route to AB-Tech.  It will connect to MLK Jr. Dr. via Short Coxe Ave. to McCormick Place to South Charlotte Street and then maintain its normal route to UNC Asheville.  Route 18 will take Haywood Street to Clingman Ave. to Hilliard Ave. to reach the Transit Center at the end of the route.
Route 26 – Tunnel Road/Asheville Mall — will use Coxe Ave. to Southside Ave. to Short Coxe Ave. to McCormick Place to MLK Dr. both inbound and outbound, then connect to the normal route east on Tunnel Rd.
Route 28 – Black Mountain — will use Coxe Ave. to Southside Ave. to Short Coxe Ave. to McCormick Place to MLK Dr. both inbound and outbound, then connect to the normal route east on Tunnel Rd.
