City of Asheville receives flood of City Council applications

The deadline for applications to fill Holly Jones’ Asheville City Council seat has come and gone, and though the vast majority waited until the last 48 hours, a whopping 47 people submitted applications.

Now, it is up to the six remaining City Council members (Jones said her goodbyes at the Nov. 25 meeting) to decide who and how many candidates they would like to interview. That step will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 2, with the final vote to select a new member taking place in a formal session on Dec. 9.

Xpress has each individual’s application catalogued at Xpress Files here. Want to make your voice heard about who you would choose for the Council seat? Click here to vote in an unofficial online poll conducted by Xpress.

    • a citizens poll where you can for your top five.
