Four million pages on the loading dock: Best of WNC, Part II

The second issue containing the results of this year’s Best of WNC survey arrived at the Xpress loading dock Tuesday afternoon and was quickly dispersed to the delivery drivers. According to Xpress Distribution Manager Jeff Tallman, this marks an Xpress milestone.

“We are at 160 pages, the largest Xpress issue ever,” wrote Tallman in an E-mail to Xpress staff. “Additionally, we’re at our peak press run of the year:  30,000 copies.”

That’s 4.8 million pages of local independent media, according to Tallman, “stacked very high at all 809 locations in 9 counties.”

    Greenville, SC and you are now journalistic brothers in arms.

    Where should one get real news from in WNC?
    Where is the southern fried Woodward and Bernstein?

      Reminds me of a quote by Lord Northcliffe, British publisher of the late 19th and early 20th centuries:

      “News is what somebody somewhere wants to suppress; everything else is advertising.”
