Get on the bus, Gus: Transit input wanted

Bus riders and nonriders alike who have ideas on how to make the city’s transit system better have their chance to speak up at a public forum on Thursday. The meeting is designed to gather public input for use in a Transit Master Plan for the city.

Want more frequent service? Later hours? Longer routes? Here’s your chance to weigh in.

The open house will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Banquet Hall of the Asheville Civic Center. Can’t go? You can fill out this online survey.

I think they should paint the buses purple and have live music on them. Such as the fabulous and fun band Now You See Them, who performed with gusto and balance on the bus at POPAsheville.

24 hours service! I can take the bus to work, but can’t get home. Also I think running all night would drastically reduce DUIs, but the system loves DUI money too much to let that happen.

Now that Obama has been elected, we need to move forward quickly on the greening of Asheville. All vehicle traffic within the city limits needs to be stopped, save emergency vehicles and taxicabs. Make people take mass transit. Add mor times and run the buses until 2:00 am everywhere. And run every 30 minutes. We Americans need to sacrifice and move forward to realize Barack’s plan to remake America.
