Pack’s Tavern hiring expo on Tuesday ***CORRECTED***

The owners of the upcoming Pack’s Tavern restaurant and bar next to Pack Square Park are planning a hiring expo on Tuesday, saying they plan to bring on 150 employees.

Owner Stewart Coleman said about 100 of those will be full-time kitchen, host, server and bartender positions for the restaurant and adjacent South Bar sports bar area. Another 50 will be part time positions for the upstairs event space.

The tavern will be located in the Hayes & Hopson Building, where Coleman once planned the controversial Parkside condominium project. Coleman announced last August that he would focus on restoring the building to open Pack’s Tavern.

Coleman said he is tentatively considering opening the restaurant the last week in March, but will wait until the end of February to make that call (Coleman noted that reservations for the upstairs have already been made for April.) The restaurant will seat 220, with room for 161 in the South Bar section. Another 119 customers can fit in the outdoor dining section, which will open April 15. The upstair Century Room will have a capacity of 250 to 390.

The job expo will take place Tuesday, Feb. 16 at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Asheville from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Applications will be provided at the event. Colemn told Xpress that it may take up to two weeks to go through the applications and determine who will be called back for second interviews.

Hey is there a email I can send my resume to, I was looking for a weekend job and don’t get off work today until 5:30 P.M.? I would love to work weekends and have lots of experience in the restaurant (fine dining).
    Thanks!

The restuarant sounds like a great place to work. Having a lot of experience in this field, I am definately intrested in applying for a job but cannot make it to the job fair. Is their an e-mail address for resumes or a way to apply online. Any help you can give would be great!
