Xpress-rated: Video sneak peek at the Nov. 12 issue

Here’s a little different sneak preview of Wednesday’s edition of the Mountain Xpress, which features a look back at the results of last week’s elections. A surge in voter turnout, fueled by intense interest in the presidential contest, paid off for local Democrats the evening of Nov. 4. When the votes were counted, the party started celebrating its near-total sweep of local and state offices. At the Republican gathering at the Grove Park Inn, a somber crowd of party faithful watched the night unfold. (To see Xpress photo galleries of the action, click here, here and here.)

Of course, you’ll find much more in Wednesday’s newspaper. In our Arts & Entertainment section, look for our weekly Smart Bets picks for entertainment options, as well as a story previewing an upcoming visit by multimedia artist Faith Ringgold; a look at a provocative play opening the new black-box theater at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College; and a review of the band Tony Wain and the Payne. You’ll find our Edgy Mama parenting column and movie reviews by Ken Hanke. Don’t forget to look for the Asheville Disclaimer, News of the Weird and much more.
