Mark Crawford

Mark Crawford, personally registered as a Republican.

Endorsements: I consider every one of the tens of thousands of voters who have voted for me in past races to be endorsements. Because this is a nonpartisan races, few organizations of any nature are offering endorsements in this race. I have been endorsed in various other, past races by the following organizations: The Asheville Citizen-Times, Grassroots North Carolina, The State Employees Association of North Carolina, and the Police Benevolent Association. Blue Ridge Republican Women’s Club endorsed all affiliated Republicans in this race.

Why I’m running:
I was a full-time substitute teacher for 13 years in Buncombe County. I’ve taught in every school in the Owen District. I continued as a substitute teacher while serving in the North Carolina Legislature and for first three years of my current job, teaching at Western Carolina University. We have a potentially world-class education system, but there are still some steps to take. I want to make sure that our students receive the best possible education.
