Blatant racism of Republicans on display

A DO-NOTHING Congress and a House of Representatives, whose real speaker is a radical right-wing senator, not even a member of the House, have accomplished less and hurt the country more over the past six years than any Congress in history. It’s a fact. [John] Boehner is just a puppet, not a leader in any sense of the word, and too concerned about keeping himself in power to worry about the American people. [He is] too willing to be led by the nose by the radical anti-American libertarian wing of his party.

All of this is done to keep the country’s first black president from looking like he had any positive effect. The blatant racism of the Republicans was on full display as they attacked every minority in sight. They certainly did the bidding of the unelected corporations and the John Birch Society’s founding family, the Kochs, and the hate-peddling NRA [National Rifle Association].

Some people say you get the government you deserve. I don’t believe that in an era of bought- and-paid-for politicians. This is certainly not the government I deserve.

If you are tired of this, you must turn out for the midterm election and throw these bums out. Let’s start with Congressmen Mark Meadows and Patrick McHenry.

The current Congress has the lowest approval ratings of anytime in U.S. history, with an average of under 13% based upon five different recent polls, including Gallop and even Fox. People understand this is an obstructionist, do-nothing bunch of hack politicians owned lock, stock and barrel by the oligarchs that have now completely undermined our democratic republic. Of course, the entire federal government is now viewed more negatively than ever before in history as well. The second-rate attorneys that constitute the majority of the current Supreme Court Incorporated are lackeys of the oligarchs. 75% of all rulings under these shills have been in favor of corporations over citizens; we now have corporations with more freedoms than individuals, thanks to them. And let’s not forget that while this Congress has had as its primary goal from day one the thwarting of any and all efforts by this President. Head Senate sell-out Mitch McConnell publicly stated this, as some may recall.

But it is also important to keep in mind that President Obama has proven himself to be just another disingenuous corporatist as well. When he is not dithering or worrying about what the right-wing kooks may say about him, he’s quiety bending over backwards to appease his corporate paymasters as well. This entire federal government, and much of state governments, have been corrupted by money and greed. Just look at who he has put into high positions; they’re all corporate establishment types, with many coming from corporate lobbying jobs. Look at what is going on at the FCC now, as the Administration is openly being manipulated by Warner/Comcast as they move to eliminate competition (who really thinks we have a ‘free market’?).

It would be a good start to remove people like Meadows and McHenry, but redistricting (i.e. cheating) may insure that will cannot be expressed at the polls. But the bigger issue is getting money out of politics. This Congress will never do it; laws being proposed to blunt this wholesale buying of our politicians will never pass; it will be a PR stunt. They’re too corrupt to give up the payola. A constitutional amendment via the provisions of the Fifth Amendment through state legislators is the only way to get this done. There is a fast-growing movement in this country to do just that. Two states have already passed such amendment language and more are being introduced. It’s the way the Founding Fathers insured that should the federal government become as corrupt and ineffective as it is today, there will still be a way for the people to prevail. It can be done, and now is the time to do it.

Correction: it should have read “through the provisions of Article 5 of the Constitution”.
