The ultimate missing dog story

This is the ultimate missing dog story, with a happy ending!

Thursday morning, my girlfriend and I parted ways as she headed to work and I to the gym. I soon realized I left something at her house and went back to get it. When I [arrived], I noticed the gate to the yard was open, and no dog. I of course went into a panic mode and immediately got in the car to search the neighborhood. I called possible friends who could have potentially kidnapped her for a day hike and forgot to mention it (or shut the gate for that matter!), but to no avail. I made several trips to the Humane Society to walk through their impounded dogs; I filed a report with them, visiting several shelters, and putting up signs throughout the area. I had no news. As a last attempt to maybe get some information about the dog's whereabouts, I made and posted an add on Craigslist. The next morning I had a response! I was beyond ecstatic and the sweet woman sent pictures to confirm she did in fact have our missing dog. Unfortunately, she was only visiting Asheville and had returned home to Indiana, dog in tow!

People, there is still good in the world. The fact that we are now trying to figure out how to get to Indiana is irrelevant, our dog is safe, and life is good!

It seems a bit irrational to find a stray and then transport it to another state, 350+ miles away!?
