Beginning April 19, ActionFest will once again bring the best in world action cinema to Asheville — this time with a monthly ActionFest Film Series, the first of which will benefit Homeward Bound.
The Asheville Film Society honors Coach Eddie Biedenbach and the 2011-2012 UNC Asheville Men’s Basketball Team, and presents a benefit screening of the Sundance favorite The Other Dream Team to benefit Homeward Bound — with special guest appearance by the Rocketman.

Word has finally come that, yes, we’ll be seeing another ActionFest in Asheville in 2012. So those of you who’ve been asking me — and that includes the intrepid soul who last year sat through 13 feature films — can finally stop asking, and now start planning how to spend those three days of high-octane movies in mid-April.
Action Fest 2010 got off to a rousing start, as captured in a video by Pommeemmop, in which the festival’s pumped-up organizer took a larger-than-life approach, mocking this week’s competing Hatchfest and promising “awesome” action films and live stunt shows by the best in the industry.
