The Pisgah Conservancy (TPC) is sponsoring Pisgah Pride Day, a broad-based volunteer workday in the Pisgah Ranger District. With the support of numerous forest user groups, local businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, and individuals passionate about Pisgah, Pisgah Pride Day has become a great success.
Volunteers can register for the 4th annual event, which will be on Saturday, April 27. TPC, the Forest Service, and participating organizations will provide supervision and tools. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, eco-friendly water bottle, and other miscellaneous goodies for their efforts. All will be invited to gather afterwards at Oskar Blues in Brevard for a bit of refreshment, with a percentage of the proceeds going to The Pisgah Conservancy.
Volunteers will meet at the Ranger Station between 8 A.M. and 8:30 A.M. at the Pisgah Ranger Station on US 276 just north of Brevard (unless otherwise directed by email). Once a volunteer has signed up at the Ranger Station, they will carpool with their group or use specially provided transportation to the specific job site. Groups will head out with their crew leaders by 9 A.M. sharp. Crews will wind up their work by about 2:00 p.m., and will get together afterwards at Oskar Blues Brewery, 342 Mountain Industrial Dr., Brevard, N.C.
