Press release from Western Carolina Rescue Ministries:
On Saturday, Nov. 2, from 12:00-2:00 p.m., Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) will host their annual “Coats for the Cold.” This event will help benefit anyone in Western North Carolina who is in need of winter gear such as coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and hand warmers. All sizes will be available for men, women and children.
Individuals in need of winter clothing are invited to come to WCRM (225 Patton Avenue, Asheville) and shop for their very own winter coat, hat, gloves, scarves and more! In addition, warm beverages (such as hot cocoa) and snacks will be provided.
Volunteers and donations of gently used/new coats, hats, gloves and scarves are needed and can be dropped off at WCRM (225 Patton Avenue) from Oct. 1-31. Additional donation locations can be found at any of the WCRM Thrift Stores (1078 Tunnel Road; 35 Westridge Market Place, Candler; 25 Long Shoals Road, Arden; and 624 Patton Avenue) as well as any of the Swannanoa Cleaners.
A special thanks to Swannanoa Cleaners for cleaning each and every item in preparation for this event. Their efforts helps ensure we are providing individuals with “like-new” items for the winter season.
