Press release from the City of Asheville:
Due to an unexpected utility discovery during the ongoing Carter-Ann-Patton stormwater project, a portion of Patton Avenue and connecting streets will be closed the night of Monday, June 17 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Work will be carried out overnight to minimize disruption to area businesses and residents.
To ensure crew and community safety, the following street sections will be fully closed:
Patton Avenue from Otis Street to Clingman Avenue
North French Broad Avenue from Patton Avenue to Otis Street
South French Broad Avenue from Patton Avenue to Hilliard Avenue
The following street sections will be closed to through traffic (open only for business and resident access):
Carter Street from Patton Avenue to Haywood Street
North Ann Street from Patton Avenue to Haywood Street
South Ann Street from Patton Avenue to Pearl Street
Detour signs will be posted at Otis Street and Clingman Avenue. Please see the map of the detour area. As with any construction project, work can be impacted by weather, causing additional delays.
This will be the first of three expected overnight closures. Future closure dates will be determined and communicated as available.
