Press release from Buncombe County:
The Buncombe County Board of Elections tonight voted unanimously to approve the polling locations for Election Day, Nov. 5. Residents can view the complete list of sites here.
Tropical Storm Helene’s destruction required the county to replace or transfer to another location 17 of the 80 voting sites across the county. Their replacements are listed here.
The reasons for the relocations include:
- Flood damage;
- Sites serving as disaster relief hubs; and
- Sites serving as emergency operations.
Residents who are unsure of where to vote on Election Day can use this search tool to find the name and address of their polling location, as well as a sample ballot. However, it will take Board of Elections staff a few days to populate the tool with all the new locations.
With more than 500 confirmed poll workers at the ready, Buncombe County has adequate staffing for all voting sites on Election Day.
Early Voting
For those who prefer to cast their ballots before Election Day, early voting is available at 10 locations across the county from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Nov. 1 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 2. Residents can see a list of those sites here. They can also view real-time wait times at each polling place on our website.
To date, over 38,000 people have voted early. The county continues to see a steady flow of foot traffic at each location. Residents should allow plenty of time to cast their ballots, and they can find their sample ballot by using the voter search tool.
