Smart Bets: Contraversial waltz

Guitarist David Brown and fiddler Cailen Campbell met while touring nationally with a bluegrass ballet. That was in 2006, they've since gone on to form dance band Contraversial. They perform at contra dances, house concerts, festivals (LEAF!) and selects bars (like 5 Walnut) as well as crafting beautiful music for waltzes. Contraversial plays a waltz at the Orange Peel on Sunday, April 1. Lesson (taught by Scott Baxla) from 5:30-6:15 p.m. ($5) and dance from 6:30-9 p.m. ($10).
