It's a decade-jumping retro-fabulous double bill. Asheville's ’60s-pop-reminiscent Cheeksters share a stage (for the first time ever) with David Bowie tribute act, Wham Bam Bowie Band. While it wouldn't usually be a big surprise that two popular local bands only just got around to co-billing, this is a different case. Both bands share frontman Mark Casson. He and his wife/bandmate Shannon started the Cheeksters shortly after they met in ’89. Wham Bam Bowie Band started more recently, with Casson channeling Ziggy Stardust and other Thin White Duke incarnations. The two groups take the stage at The Grey Eagle on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 9 p.m. $10/$12. thegreyeagle.com.
