Best of WNC Bash is tomorrow!

You know the annual Xpress Best of WNC Bash is tomorrow, right? And you’ve already cleared you schedule, right? Right?

Wait, what’s that you say? Can’t stay out late on a weeknight? No problem, this party kicks off at a perfectly respectable, practically-still-daylit 6 p.m.

Oh, but you can’t get there at 6 p.m. because you need to grab dinner first? Got you covered there, too: Some of the reader-named Best Restaurants in WNC will be serving up tasty hors d’oeuvres from 6-8 p.m. We’re talking Asheville Pizza, Jersey Mike’s, Laughing Seed, Mamacita’s, The Lobster Trap, Laurey’s, Sunny Point Cafe, Mellow Mushroom, Mela, Jack of the Wood, Ultimate Ice Cream and French Broad Chocolate Lounge. Munchies are included in the ticket price and The Orange Peel (where the festivities take place) will be offering beer specials (you know, for washing down those snacks).

Okay, but now you can’t get a babysitter on such short notice. Never fear, this is a kid-friendly gathering. Seriously. There’s even a special performance by kid-hop artist Secret Agent 23 Skidoo. And, lest you start worrying that the musical offerings are too youthful (though it would take a serious curmudgeon to not tap a toe or nod a head long to Skidoo’s tunes), bluegrass act Sons of Ralph and reggae-tinged Josh Phillips Folk Festival are also on the bill. So is Asheville Vaudeville.

And if that’s not enough, here’s a little more incentive: We’re raffling an Apple iPad.

Still need a nudge? The whole gathering is a benefit for MANNA Foodbank. So, while you get a lot of fun for the price of a ticket, you can also do a lot of good in the community.

And speaking of the ticket price, it’s $14 in advance, which means today. Tomorrow, there will be tickets at the door but they’re $2 more. Good to know if you like your snacky/dancey/do-gooder-y/beer drinky/fun having/Best Of WNC-celebrating to also be budget-friendly. (And who doesn’t?)

So, see you there. Right? Right? Right!
