Hailing from New York, New York, the bodacious 11-piece band Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra performed upbeat soul, jam, gospel and roots music last night at the Emerald Lounge. Clad in white suites with gold collars and sleeves, with female singers/dancers in white dresses and sparkling gold boots, the energetic band filled the lounge with electric New Orleans-inspires tunes fit for a blow-out Mardi Gras celebration. Featured below is lead singer Brother Joscephus with The Right Reverend Dean Dawg on keyboard (dressed as a king), with their ensemble of musicians and booty-shaking dancers.
The local performing-arts collective Asheville Vaudeville opened for Brother Joscephus, presenting short theatrical skits, eclectic music and puppetry.
