Chazzfest!: Xpress gives tickets to contest winner

Asheville resident Meghan Rogers  was just browsing the Xpress website on Aug. 19 when she decided to enter the drawing for two tickets (hotel stay included) in Charleston, S.C. for the Chazzfest music festival.

“A friend of mine is moving to the area, so I was just looking at jobs, housing, etc. for her and I saw this contest and decided ‘why not,’” Rogers told Xpress.

Yesterday, she was informed that she’d won the tickets and a trip to the Sept. 22 festival, featuring Branford Marsalis, Kool and the Gang and Toots and the Maytals, among others.

“I’m so excited! I never win anything!” Rogers exclaimed. While she’s never been to Chazzfest before, she used to live in Charleston.

“I’m really looking forward to Toots and the Maytals—and Kool and the Gang will be there too. I’m going—and it’s all thanks to the Xpress!”
