You should go to YouTube and watch a really classic Yogi cartoon, anyone made between 1958 and 1962. It’s the voice actors Daws Butler and Don Messick who are inspired and the great writing by Warren Foster who wrote so many of the great Friz Freleng Warner Brother cartoons in the 40s and 50s that make them shine.

This new movie is a travesty. Poor Dan Akroyd sound nothing like Daws, who was my mentor and taught me the correct way to do Yogi. I auditioned for the movie but of course they picked a celeb. I love Dan but he is awful in this. I even offered his management to give Dan tapes I have of Daws teaching me how to do the character correctly but they turned it down.
