Ken, your Blood for Dracula theatrical viewing ‘curse’ sounds like the way I feel right now about Tetro. I keep wanting/trying to see this on the big screen, and I keep being held back by unfortunate circumstances. (*Sigh* How very depressing.)

Speaking of which, I don’t think that Tetro would be better as a Cronenberg film, but there is a reasonable enough plethora of films that (I agree) would be better served.

Trust me, your absence on Tuesday was noticed and regretted — as was that of a certain Tonberry, who spent a good deal of time complaining about not getting to see the film when it played at the Fine Arts. You I tend to believe were the victim of unfortunate circumstances. He on the other hand appears to have merely been gadding about in some other city at the time — and I have yet to decide whether or not I’m forgiving him without some significant pennance on his part. I am hopeful that your circumstances will be more fortunate on the 15th for Bad Taste.

    I appreciate that.

You could demand that he accompany you to the new Twinklight flick – that might do the trick.

Actually, my lovely wife already requested that day off of work, just for me to see Bad Taste – so I should be good to go.

I’d actually considered that, but if he shows up tonight, I’m betting he comes with a cleverly arranged excuse to avoid that.

  5. Oh how I hate that I’m missing the screening of “Blood for Dracula.” It’s so rich…. so many extremely funny lines that I’ve memorized, the accents, the visuals, the coffin on the roof of the touring sedan, the dead flowers… one of the best vomiting scenes I’ve ever seen, the costuming… I could go on and on.

The opening scene in this movie is memorable too.

    Y’all enjoy!

Yes, I half way expected to see you there because I remembered that you were an admirer. We did have a nice turn-out — and only four walk-outs, which seems about right even though I’ve spent two weeks warning about the content and did so again just before the screening. Most people seemed to get right into the spirit of the film.

Well some folks just don’t either “get” or appreciate black humor.

Oh, I know. What continues to baffle me are the folks that you have told might find the material offensive who then are offended when that happens.
