They also discuss this week’s Thursday Horror Picture Show double feature of the Béla Lugosi classics White Zombie and Island of Lost Souls, the Asheville Film Society screening of the George C. Scott cult classic They Might Be Giants, and the one-night-only screening of the remastered version of Ken Russell’s Tommy. And, just to top it off, they ponder the potential quality of soon-to-open films Takers and The Last Exorcism.

    No bizzare, half ape men? I guess the Altered States’ isolation tank sensory deprivation research has reached its full, finalized morphing phase.

    I’m so glad you found the trailer for The Last Exorcism funny. I unnintentionally burst out laughing in a crowded theater, and recieved angry glares from a few, nearby audience members. It momentarily made me wonder if perhaps there was more wrong with me than I initially thought… not that this really disproves that.

    Yeah, I was going to say that. Whoever was with me — I think it was “Tonberry” — laughed, too. Not sure if that helps or hinders.
