  1. “Timpeck: Aren’t you regularly on URTV? Or was that a joke?”

    It was a joke.

My days at IMTV ended the day Executive
Director Pat Garlinghouse compelled Jen Mass to quit; with the blessings of Board Chair Mark Wilson. Jen Mass built URTV with her own blood, sweat and overtime. First is was Kurt Mann, then Paul Snow, then Jen Mass, and now Peter Brezny:

    Funny how **** happens.

heh heh, Can person? I suppose it’s a freudian slip like Jason B’s “dong” instead of “dog.”

  3. dalton stansbury

    Steve,
do you think banjo somehow automatically equals bluegrass? What are you talking about?
We’re playing the Root Bar tonight, why don’t you come on by and get your head on straight!

    cheers,

    Dalton

  4. Dalton: Yes, with the possible exception of certain African roots music and a bunch of Bela Fleck songs no one under 35 has ever heard, “banjo = bluegrass.” It’s the most basic of musical equations. Kind of like how “Baby + Yeah = A Rock song.” Or how “Kenny Loggins – accidental iTunes download = pure sadness.”

But why are you commenting on it here? Start a thread on the forums about this. That’s what they are there for.

  5. brebro

Sam the Snowman had a banjo. Does “Silver and Gold” sound like bluegrass to you???

(Ignore the fact that a banjo does not actually seem to appear in the song – and that the snowman sounds like Burl Ives)

  6. Brebro: Following my line of thinking, Kermit the Frog is a bluegrass master. On “The Rainbow Connection,” specifically.

This also makes Steve Martin’s early stand-up comedy routines pretty much the birth of newgrass. Anyone care to place a bet on whether or not that statement has John Hartford is spinning in his grave?

  7. R Bernier

Urtv has grew alot in the last two years – its been for for my first year of being on “live” tv each week.

Though, some shows might not be up everyone’s alley however, if one thinks they can add to URTV then I say join up & produce.

When you sit on the sidelines, all you can do is cheer or boooooo – I say step up & get into the game.

If you want free speach, then here it is however you must use the URTV play book which has rules. This does not sit well with some ex-players – their lost.
