Give them all your lovin’

Win tickets to see Whiskey Shivers play with the Cajun Country Revival! The two bands take the stage at Jack of the Wood this Saturday, Oct. 20. Read the smart bet for the show here.

Whiskey Shivers, from Austin, Texas, is “A freewheelin’, trashgrassin’, folk tornado.” According to the band’s bio, they “take traditional instrumentation, soak it in gas and send it into outer space.” Which sounds a little bit frightening, and a lot awesome. Ryan Seacrest and Perez Hilton have said nice-ish things about them. They play upright bass, fiddle, washboard, banjo and guitar and (rumor has it) sing songs about the Mario Brothers. Check out their latest album, Rampa Head, here. (Hint: to win one of two sets of tickets to the Whiskey Shivers’ Jack of the Wood show, you’re going to need to know some lyrics.)

Show time is 9 p.m., cover is $10. Xpress will give away two pairs of tickets to the Saturday show. Contests today on Facebook at 1 and 2 p.m.
