Lucinda Williams to play benefit for Wild South at Pisgah

“Songstress Lucinda Williams has announced a Saturday, Oct. 15 performance at Pisgah Brewing Company’s outdoor stage in Black Mountain. The show is a benefit for Wild South, an Asheville based nonprofit that aims to protect wild lands, wildlife and the wild character of the South. A presale for Lucinda’s fan club and Wild South members begins on Wednesday, Sept. 15 and ends on Monday, Sept. 19. Tickets go on sale to the public on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Lucinda’s show marks the end of the Pisgah Brewing Company’s outdoor stage season.

Three-time Grammy winner Lucinda Williams brings to stage twang, edge and passion reflecting her Southern background. Her style draws from soulful roots and pays homage to blues, folk, rock, country and gospel. Her songs are earthy and honest, often depicting uniquely Southern realities — tough economies, strong characters, heartache and joy, and wild landscapes.

Lucinda was named “America’s Best Songwriter” by TIME Magazine in 2002 and is currently touring in support of her critically acclaimed release, Blessed, which has received recognition as a 2011 Album of the Year Nominee by the Americana Music Association.

    Thanks for the article. However, you indicate that the fan presale begins on “Wednesday September 15.” Wedenesday, today, is actually the 14th. Could it be that the presale tickets go on sale Thursday the 15th? I can’t get a reply from Lucinda’s fansite.

    Just announced BrewmasterVIP BBQ Dinner will be local, seasonal fare from Hickory Nut Gap Farm, The Green Sage Cafe, Flying Cloud Farm and Luellas! AMAZING!!! Last outdoor show in 2011 !
