Moogfest discount tickets for locals

In case you haven’t had a chance to check out the second edition of Xpress’ Best Of WNC (out on newsstands today), Moogfest was voted best Live show of 2011: local music event. And it hasn’t even happened yet!

In a press releases, Moog Music extended a thank you local residents for the accolade in the annual readers poll. “In gratitude for the hometown love, Moog has pulled some strings to get Ashevillians a sweet discount on Moogfest weekend passes,” reads the press release. “On Wednesday, Oct. 12, residents of Buncombe County as well as surrounding counties will be able to purchase three-day passes to Moogfest at the rolled back ticket price of $149.50.”

Tickets became available for purchase at the Asheville Civic Center box office at 10 a.m. today. Residents with a valid photo ID may buy two (2) tickets.

Terrrrrrriffic! I’m trying to unload my tickets bought at $200 each for a small loss. Looks like I’ll have to take another $100 dive, just because sales are down for this year’s lineup. Make no mistake, if sales were brisk, this would not be happening.

I don’t think AC Entertainment is too aware of how serious Ashevillians take Halloween. There will be five days of parties, then you also need to go trick or treating. I knew many many people that wanted to go to Moogfest last year but had other obligations.
