Moulin Rouge gets sultry for charity

Asheville’s smoking hot Moulin Rouge Gala is back. This year, the event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resort near the Westgate Plaza. Last year, Moulin Rouge took over the Haywood Park Hotel and included cabaret girls and aerial acts in the atrium. This year, the gala is going Bollywood: the Crowne Plaza’s ballroom will be decorated with all things India, and entertainment will include Bala, a local belly-dancing troop headed by Lisa Zahiya.

Other musical acts include Kat Williams as well as the River Guerguerian Project.

Local restaurants will provide food for the event, including Jerusalem Garden, Fiore’s Ristorante Toscana, Nona Mia and more. For the full list of entertainment, visit the event’s website.

Tickets for the event are $75, and sales benefit Caring for Children, a nonprofit group that provides services for children and their families, regardless of their ability to pay or draw upon a third-party funding source such as Medicaid. Tickets can be found here.
