Organicfest grows in Pack Square Park on Saturday

Ready to get your organic on? Tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 11, head down to Pack Square Park for the 10th annual Organicfest, a special environmental project of the Imagine Center, a local non-profit dedicated to promoting all things organic. Expect to see a wide array of booths scattered throughout the newly completed park, including organic food and beverage vendors and other organic goods.

This being Asheville, there’s plenty of live and local music to keep your ears occupied. A number of environmental organizations will also be on hand to share information about organic living, gardening, farming and earth-friendly living. Plenty of activities are planned for the kids, too. Look for the Organicfest Kids Garden Parade at 1 p.m.

Here are some the sponsors, goods, booths and events you can expect to see:

We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.

Before you comment

The comments section is here to provide a platform for civil dialogue on the issues we face together as a local community. Xpress is committed to offering this platform for all voices, but when the tone of the discussion gets nasty or strays off topic, we believe many people choose not to participate. Xpress editors are determined to moderate comments to ensure a constructive interchange is maintained. All comments judged not to be in keeping with the spirit of civil discourse will be removed and repeat violators will be banned. See here for our terms of service. Thank you for being part of this effort to promote respectful discussion.

  1. You can also come see many organic practices in action in real gardens in the urban environment tomorrow during the West Asheville Garden Stroll from 11am to 4pm. Stroll Guides to get you started can be picked up at the West Asheville Library starting at 11am.
