From The Outsider, In is AnTHM Gallery‘s annual summer exhibition held at the Monte Vista Hotel, 308 W. State St., in Black Mountain. This year’s collection (in partnership with Montgomery, Ala.‘s Marcia Weber Art Objects) features original pieces by self-taught artists from across the country. On the roster: James Harold Jennings, Woodie Long, the late Rev. Howard Finster, Mose Tolliver and Jimmie Lee Suddeth.
“This two-month exhibit focuses on contemporary folk and outsider artists whose works and creative methods are often shaped by available found materials and isolated lifestyles,” says AnTHM’s website.
From The Outsider, In runs through Sunday, Sept. 1.
