Portraits from Prom!

The Friday the 13th prom for grownups at the Grey Eagle was a smash — a veritable night of time travel to an earlier age of innocence, awkwardness, romance, longing and cheesy attire. Some 600 attendees danced and mingled the evening away.

The co-organizers, brothers Chris and Drew Findley, say the event was such a hit that they plan to make it an annual affair. For the time being, anyone who did or didn’t make it to the prom can witness some of the magic in this online gallery of formal (but fun) portraits, which are provided courtesy of Castell Photography.

Next year maybe they’ll consider over-crowding. I was amazed at how seriously some 30+ people took the whole prom theme. Scary and sometimes refreshing.

  2. koka, it was a first year event–they were pleasantly surprised with the fact that it sold out. i say if the demand is there (and it obviously is) they should take it to the orange peel next year so more people can attend!

It was a successful event but the Orange Peel would serve their needs better. I couldn’t stand anywhere without being pushed or ran into. Many people were from out of town, so it may grow even more next year. Reigning Sound has a huge following and can draw large crowds.
