Sink it and drink it (that’s golf and beer) on Thursday

Don your argyle socks and assemble your team of fore (get it?), because tomorrow is the Sink it and Drink it pub crawl. It’s more Asheville Beer Week fun.

Xpress and Sweet Tee Mini Golf have joined forces to combine two of summer’s finest pastimes: playing golf and drinking beer.

Here’s how it works: Get your team of four people together and register at Asheville Brewing Company on Coxe Avenue. Registration is $50 for a team. It’s part of Asheville Beer Week, and this is a benefit for the Asheville Brewer’s Alliance. What else do you get for that? Along with the fun of putting nine holes while throwing back pints, you could win prizes for best-dressed, lowest team score, lowest individual score and best team name, among others.

Putt-putt pub crawl runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Register at Asheville Brewing from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The after-party starts at 9 p.m. at Asheville Brewing, with free pizza and beer for teams. There will be a silent auction (Bid on tickets to Bonnaroo, Shakori Hills Roots Festival, Karl Denson at Pisgah Brewing and much more), raffle and sweet trophies, of course.

Participating downtown establishments:
Barley’s Taproom and Pizzeria
Hannah Flanagan’s
Pack’s Tavern
5 Walnut wine bar (they have beer, too)
Scully’s
One Stop Deli
Beir Garden
Craggie Brewing
Asheville Brewing Company

Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
